I'm glad to see that Al will be visiting many of the local farmers markets around the city (don't forget the new one on Queen Anne). Sustainability and the environment are the most pressing issues, and an area where Seattle is sorely lacking in leadership.

For a liberal city in the stunning environment that is the Pacific Northwest, we are still as car-centric as they come, and with a shamefully lack-luster mass transit system.

I'm glad to see that Al is at least looking in the right direction in this regard.

Al, what is the current debt load of the City of Seattle, meaning how much bond debt are we paying off through taxes? And, more importantly, how can we reduce this debt?

Do you believe that it is possible or advantageous for us to eliminate bond debt and replace it with an Endowment type of financing? What would that take?

Fellow Citizens,

Welcome to my Blog and thank you for visiting www.runteforcouncil.com. This section is dedicated to looking at Seattle's rich history to find solutions to our contemporary problems. Seattle accomplished great things in the past. We built an interurban rail system, the Olmstead Parks, and strong family neighborhoods. Share some of your anecdotes from Seattle's history, and tell us how it can solve our current problems. Representative government can only succeed with constructive feedback and avid listeners in city hall. I will be that listener. Tell me what needs to be done!
